The Efficiency Medal
Welcome to my website that will hopefully provide interest for fellow medal collectors and may even provide some useful information.

I only collect one medal, The Efficiency Medal, this helps to restrict me from buying a group because "I like that, it looks very interesting, I'll buy that", we have all done that and before you know it we would all be living on bread and water!

So why the Efficiency Medal? I will try to explain....

Instituted in 1930 this medal has appeared in several different forms; three different Monarchs, five obverses, two reverses, four distinct ribbons and 47 different scrolls.
It has been awarded not only in the United Kingdom but throughout the British Empire and latterly the Commonwealth.

The recipients have served in a huge variety of Territorial, Militia and Reserve units for 12 Years to earn this medal, but many had previously served in regular units or gone on to serve with other organisations such as the Police, Civil Defence, Cadet Forces etc. making the combinations of medals found in groups virtually never ending.
Compiling this website has made me aware of how much research I need to do so please forgive me where there are gaps, I am working on it and the site will be updated as soon as I find information.

Ensuring the memory of these men and women who have contributed so much to our Country and done it for some, if not all, of their military service as volunteers is well worth documenting.

As custodian of the medals, for that is all we as collectors are, I am proud to say that every medal illustrated within this website is part of my collection and that one day they will be back on the market for the next generation of medal collectors to enjoy. Hopefully in a small way the memory of these men and women, who gave up their free time to give their service to their countries will be amplified by the illustration of their awards and the research behind them.
I hope you find the content interesting and that you enjoy your visit, if you have any comments (be gentle!) or questions please email me via the Contact Button.
Below is a selection of Groups from the Collection illustrating some of the verity available.
